  • I am a graduate of the former Livingston High here in Livingston, Alabama. Let's go Cougars!!!
  • I attended the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama.  Mardi Gras Time!!!!
  • I  attended the University of West Alabama for undergraduate and graduate level degrees in History. Home Sweet Home!!!

After receiving a M.A.T. in History from UWA, I took a challenging teaching job at Northview High in Dothan, Alabama as an AP US History teacher. It was a learning experience.

After completing my tenure in Dothan, I then began teaching 10th and 11th grade History at Sumter County High, home of the Wildcats, and worked their successfully until the school closed unfortunately and was merged with Livingston High school to  Sumter Central High School, home of the Jaguars. (I was a part of the committee who helped select that name of our present school)

Altogether, I have taught in the Sumter County School system for over 17 years .  I currently teach 9th grade World History and AP World History.  Also, I am the Honor Society Sponsor and part of a team that works with the History Club.

Finally on the collegiate level, I sometimes teach Western Civilization, European History, or US History at EMCC when my services are needed.

My name is Barbara Rice Ngbwa Ntse.  My surname is Cameroonian which is a country in West Africa.  I love to teach History or anything!!!   Most of all, I love chlldren. I have several of my own who are precious gems to me in their own individual way.

Furthermore, I learn on a daily basis from my present day students and still keep in touch with my former students who still continue to impact my life in  a positive way.

At last, one of my favorite past time and hobby is READING!!!!  I love it.  I try to read at least one novel per week on various subjects. I read all different magazines on a daily basis. My most favorite book that I just re-read last week was William Paul Young's, The Shack.  That book was totally extraordinary!!!!  If you have not read it you should....

I really believe that thing that people love the most is a mirror into their soul and personality.  See you in the library....
