Joeva Thomas is a native of Sawyerville, AL and the eldest of three siblings.  She is married to Kenneth L. Thomas, Sr.  After graduating from Akron High School, she attended Stillman College and graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical and Health Education.  Her career began in Wilcox County where she taught Physical Education for eight years.  She later moved and became the Physical Education teacher for Greensboro High School.  Throughout her early teaching career, she enjoyed coaching little league basketball, softball, and volleyball.  In her spare time, she enjoys sailing, mountain climbing, and spending time with her nieces:  Destiny, Daija, and Deianira.  Joeva is currently the Physical Education/Health teacher for Sumter Central High School, where she has continued to be an asset by advocating for and educating the children of Sumter County.
